After 2006 all organisations applying for funding must be registered with the Charities Commission.

Individuals (directly or indirectly), sports organisations and service clubs are not eligible for assistance. All registered Schools, Kindergartens, Playcentres, Kohanga Reo, Plunkets in the Trust area receive grants on a biennial or annual basis and do not need to submit applications.

All applications must be lodged with the Public Trust by 30 June annually. Applicants are advised of the Board’s decision by mid-November. This procedure is strictly adhered to and late applications are not accepted.
Information to be provided:

  IRD charitable status letter
  confirmation of registration with the Charities Commission     ( if recieved )
  copy of constitution
  audited set of accounts
  purpose for which grant is sought
  details of all other expected funding
